Foreign Policy Implications of China's Economic Reform

WANG Jue WANG Jue

Professor Wang–Chairman of the Department of Politics and Economics at the Chinese Communist Party’s China Central Party School in Beijing–is one of the Party’s leading theoreticians and among China’s strongest advocates for the adoption of a stock market. He is that nation’s foremost expert on the Marxist classic, Das Kapital, and his views on the economy and on the United States carry special weight in China. In the late 1970s, Wang re-examined socialist development and, based on his evaluation of Western market economies and reforms in Eastern Europe, became an early convert to the market system.
