Economic Prospects of Taiwan and Hong Kong on Mainland China
In view of what is clearly the highest agenda item effecting China and its environs, we end the year with another perspective on economics of the region.
A specialist in international trade and finance, banking and foreign exchange management, as well as issues of economic integration of East Asia, Mr. Eugene Yunqi Li brings to his talk a wealth of experiences which saw him associated in recent years with the Asia/Pacific Research Center of Stanford University, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the People’s Bank of China (Head Office), Beijing, and the Head Office of the Public Bank of Malaysia. He has also conducted research in various institutions in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
Winner of the First Class Prize, twice, of the All-China Economics Research in Banking and Finance, Mr. Li was at one time on the advisory staff to Premier Zhao Zhiyang. Currently he is a a Pre-doctoral Fellow at the East-West Center while a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Santa Cruz/Stanford University. Mr. Li is concurrently Chief Columnist of the China Times Weekly (Shih-pao) of Taiwan.
