The Rape of Nanking: A Poetry Reading

Wing Tek Lum Wing Tek Lum

Wing Tek Lum is a noted Honolulu businessman and poet. His first collection of poetry, Expounding the Doubtful Points, was published by Bamboo Ridge Press in 1987. He has also joined with Makoto Ooka, Joseph Stanton, and Jean Yamasaki Toyoma in the publication of a series of renshi, linked verse, entitled What the Kite Thinks (University of Hawaii Press, 1994).

Four years ago he started researching and writing about the Japanese invasion of China, and especially the Rape of Nanking in 1937. He plans to read a selection of a dozen poems about this subject.
