Teresa Wright is a professor of Political Science at California State University, Long Beach. During the 2007-08 academic year, she is an East-West Center Visiting Fellow and Scholar. Her research focuses on protest, dissent, and democratization in China and Taiwan. Along with her book, entitled, The Perils of Protest: State Repression and Student Activism in China and Taiwan (Honolulu: University of Hawaii Press, 2001), Dr. Wright has published articles in Comparative Politics, China Quarterly, Asia Survey, and Asia Pacific Issues, as well as a number of chapters in edited volumes. Dr. Wright received her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley.
