Modernization Without Design: Economic Development in Zuoping County, Shandong
Political scientist, White House adviser, and former director of the Center for Chinese Studies at the University of Michigan, Michel C. Oksenberg will discuss the findings of his latest research. Oksenberg who assumed the presidency of the East-West Center in January was a senior staff member of National Security Council in Washington for four years. He holds a doctorate from Columbia University, where he taught for eight years before moving to Michigan where he was a faculty member for eighteen years. He has also belonged to the Council on Foreign Relations since 1973. Please join us to welcome Michel C. Oksenberg to Honolulu and to celebrate the beginning of the Chinese New Year.
